Statement

Documenting and sharing events, and civic engagements brings me purpose alongside recording the beauty of nature. Exploration of the abstract of nature by ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) being my latest creation of images with a magical 'twist' of the lens! My inspiration comes from an inner turmoil, grasping to understand the nature of relationships becomes cumbersome and can be quieted only by creating a concrete form of expression either with words to paper or artful images, sometimes a combination of both. Art as therapy, an opportunity to feel alive and vibrant through the lens of one individual to share with community. Through the lens literally as behind the camera lens, an extension of the inner eye. Through the lens of evolution, human behaviors reflecting the influence of physical and psychological predispositions that helped human ancestors survive.

Biography

Born and pretty much lived in the Racine area except freshman year in Phoenix in 1969 when tie-dye and beading were a few safe things for experimenting teenagers. Senior year back in Racine led into Studio Art which was an advanced art class at Wm Horlick High School that provided a deeper look into 2D and 3D art. Introduced and experimenting with a pinhole 'camera' she fell in love with creating images. Nursing ended up being the career path but the camera was a constant companion; documenting landscapes, historic buildings and then her children in school creating collages for yearbooks. Once retired, time opened up to entering shows, and it's been probably 10 years exchanging ideas with the local Kenosha, Racine and Milwaukee artist communities.
